The Great Bay Partnership awards $88,730 for nine Stewardship Projects

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership announced the Spring 2026 recipients of Stewardship Grant Program awards. The nine grant recipients received a total of $88,730 in grant funds to support stewardship projects on 931 acres of conservation land in the Great Bay Watershed and Coastal Watershed. Grant recipients provided over $38,248 in matching funds.

The Stewardship Grant Program assists with stewardship costs for permanently protected conservation lands in the Great Bay Watershed and Coastal Watershed of New Hampshire. Stewardship activities supported by this grant program include habitat management, existing trail maintenance, property and project planning, and natural resource inventory projects. Eligible applicants include the fee owner or conservation easement holder of an eligible conservation property, including land trusts, municipalities and units of governments.

  • Town of Milton Conservation Commission, $5,080. Habitat Management, Milton, NH
  • Town of Milton Conservation Commission, $6,656. Habitat Management, Milton, NH
  • Moose Mountains Regional Greenways, $6,075. Conservation Planning, Farmington, NH
  • Town of Newmarket Conservation Commission, $13,000. Conservation Planning, Newmarket, NH
  • Town of Newmarket Conservation Commission, $13,000. Conservation Planning, Newmarket, NH
  • Society for the Protection of NH Forests, $4,980. Habitat Management, Newfields, NH
  • Society for the Protection of NH Forests, $9,120. Habitat Management, Durham, NH
  • Rockingham County Conservation District, $15,121. Conservation Planning, Rye, NH

Funding for the Stewardship Grant Program is provided by the Great Bay 2030 Initiative and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership is a collaboration of conservation organizations in the coastal region that promotes landscape-scale land conservation and stewardship. The Nature Conservancy serves as the fiscal agent for the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership grant program.
