The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership will offer grants to assist with land stewardship costs for the permanently protected conservation lands in the Great Bay watershed area of New Hampshire.

The Stewardship Grant Program 2024 Grant Application will be posted by 5/1/2024 and applications will be due 6/3/2024.

The Great Bay Partnership awards $39,298 for land transaction costs to two conservation projects

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership announced the Fall 2023 recipients of Land Protection Transaction Grant Program grant awards. A total of $39,298 in grant funds will support conservation work on over 140 acres of land. The two conservation projects provide over $38,980 in matching funds.

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program assists land trusts, conservation organizations and municipal governments in the Great Bay watershed of New Hampshire a with land protection transaction costs including appraisal, land survey, legal, title, recording fees, easement baseline documentation and environmental assessments. The eligible properties are permanently protected through donation or acquisition of land and conservation easements.

The Fall 2023 grant awards include conservation properties representing a diversity of natural resources including woodlands, agricultural lands and open fields, important wildlife habitats and water resources.

The Fall 2023 Land Protection Transaction Grant Recipients:

  • Town of Fremont, $20,000, Conservation Project Grant, Fremont, NH
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $20,000, Conservation Project Grant, Barrington, NH

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership is a collaboration of conservation organizations in the coastal region that promotes landscape-scale land conservation and stewardship. Funding for the Land Protection Transaction Grant program is provided by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Great Bay 2030 Initiative. The Nature Conservancy serves as the fiscal agent for the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership grant program.
