The Great Bay Partnership awards $47,505 for land transaction costs to six conservation projects.

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership announced the Fall 2019 recipients of Land Protection Transaction Grant Program grant awards. A total of $47,505 in grant funds will support conservation work on 364 acres of land. The six conservation projects provide over $48,000 in matching funds.

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program assists land trusts, conservation organizations and municipal governments in the coastal watershed of New Hampshire and Maine with land protection transaction costs including appraisal, land survey, legal, title, recording fees, easement baseline documentation and environmental assessments. The eligible properties are permanently protected through donation or acquisition of land and conservation easements.

The Fall 2019 grant awards include conservation properties representing a diversity of natural resources including woodlands, agricultural lands and open fields, important wildlife habitats and water resources.

  • Society for the Protection of NH Forest, $10,075 Conservation Project Grant, Town of Hampton Falls
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $2,500 Appraisal Grant, Town of Brentwood
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $3,500 Appraisal Grant, Town of Fremont
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $13,780 Conservation Project Grant, Town of Epping
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $15,900 Conservation Project Grant, Town of Barrington

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program will have a grant round in Spring 2020. Grants will be offered for both Appraisal Grants and Conservation Project Grants. See the Great Bay Partnership website for additional details.

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership is a collaboration of conservation organizations in the coastal region that promotes landscape-scale land conservation and stewardship. Funding for the Land Protection Transaction Grant program is provided by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and the Thomas W. Haas Fund of New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The Nature Conservancy serves as the fiscal agent for the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership grant program.

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership (GBRPP) has announced the Fall 2018 Land Protection Transaction Grants Program awards. A total of $17,550 in grant funds will support conservation appraisal work on 730 acres of land. The seven conservation projects provided over $17,750 in matching funds.

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program assists land trusts, conservation organizations and municipal governments within the coastal watershed with the transaction costs associated with permanent land protection such as the donation and acquisition of land and conservation easements. The Fall 2018 grant round offered matching Appraisal Grants to assist with the initial transaction cost of a property appraisal.

This round of awardees includes conservation properties representing a diversity of natural resources including woodlands, agricultural lands and open fields, important wildlife habitats and water resources. The awarded conservation projects are located across the coastal watershed in six communities including Deerfield, Epping, Kingston, Portsmouth, Rye and Wakefield.

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program will have a grant round in March 2019. Grants will be offered for both Appraisal Grants and Conservation Project Grants to assist with the transaction expenses for permanent landprotection projects including survey, title, legal, baseline documentation and environmental assessment costs.
